Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda has launched an all-out attack on the state government for ignoring farmers and the deteriorating system. Hooda visited the new grain market of Karnal to listen to the problems of the farmers, where he strongly protested against the chaos in the markets and the conditions being imposed on the farmers. At the same time, he also took a dig at the MLAs who cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections.
While interacting directly with the farmers in the market, Hooda said that the primary duty of the government is to give respect to the farmers, but the current situation is exactly the opposite. He raised the demand for immediate cancellation of the ‘biometric process’ made mandatory for the sale of wheat. Hooda clearly said that conditions like portal registration, gate pass, guarantor, tractor number and verification have become not a convenience for the farmers, but an ‘unnecessary burden’.
He told that complaints of poor condition in the markets are coming from the entire state. Due to these complications, farmers are forced to wait for many days to sell their crops. Hooda demanded from the government that the process of purchasing wheat should be made easier and proper compensation should be given to the farmers immediately by getting special Girdawari done for the damaged crop.
‘If you have cross voted then you will definitely meet the CM’
Hooda took a dig at the question of MLAs Mohammad Israel and Mohammad Ilyas meeting the Chief Minister who did cross-voting during the Rajya Sabha elections. He sarcastically said, “When there is cross voting, they will definitely meet the Chief Minister.” Along with this, he cornered the state government and alleged that during the current regime, scams are coming to light one after the other.
Haryana was number one before 2014
Expressing concern over the poor condition of the state, Hooda enumerated the past achievements. He said that before 2014, Haryana, which was number one in the country in terms of law and order, sports-players, per capita income and employment (jobs), is today lagging behind on every front. Haryana, which was taken to great heights by the farmers, laborers and traders of the state, today the law and order and development situation there has completely collapsed.
