Running of Vande Bharat directly from Jammu to Srinagar will increase the number of tourists in the valley and will also reduce the fatigue of the devotees participating in the Amarnath Yatra starting from July 3. Instead of about ten hours by road, Vande will reach Srinagar from India in just five hours. There will be a lot of relief from the jam caused by the crowd of pilgrims during the journey in Jammu city also.
To reach the holy cave of Baba Amarnath, about four hundred kilometers from Jammu by road, devotees have to first reach Srinagar. After night rest there, we leave for the holy place on the next morning. Traveling for two days worsens the condition due to fatigue. Some pilgrims used to travel by Vande Bharat running from Katra to Srinagar but due to having only eight bogies, they could hardly get a seat.
Now the devotees from Vande Bharat, which runs from Jammu to Srinagar at 06:20 in the morning, will reach Srinagar at 11:10 in the day and on the same day, after completing the distance of about 100 kilometers from there by bus or car, they will reach the holy cave in three-four hours. This means that the devotees who left from Jammu in the morning will reach the gate of Baba Barfani by evening.
The second train will depart from Jammu at 01:20 pm and reach Srinagar at 06:00 pm. After resting all night, you will reach Amarnath comfortably on the next morning. This time they will also get confirmed seats because in a Vande Bharat with twenty coaches, 1440 passengers can travel at a time. The running of these two trains will provide relief to the pilgrims and the city of Jammu will be freed from congestion to a great extent.
