In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, such a high-voltage drama of hide and seek between the police and a vicious interstate thief was seen, which is no less than a suspense film. This mastermind, who has committed more than 400 thefts, jumped into a pond filled with algae to escape from the police and hid underwater for 5 hours. To stay alive, he used the lotus stem (lotus cord) as a pipe to breathe. However, he was caught with the help of divers.
According to the information, this vicious thief was running away after stealing a woman’s purse from the AC coach of Jabalpur-Itwari train. Then he came in the sight of the Railway Protection Force (RPF). As soon as the speed of the train slowed down near Sihora station, he jumped from the moving train to dodge the police and jumped into the moss-filled pond in front. Due to the darkness of the night and the pond being filled with algae, he disappeared from the sight of the police.
Kept breathing underwater with lotus stem
The police did not give up and started the rescue operation by calling divers in the night itself. There was no trace of the thief on the surface of the water. Actually, this vicious criminal had completely immersed himself in water and to get oxygen from outside, he had pressed a hollow stem of lotus in his mouth. After about 5 hours of hard work, the divers found him underwater.
Revealed from old photo
After the arrest, the accused kept misleading the police and kept giving different names. But when the police identified him from an old photograph, the police were also shocked. Investigation revealed that this vicious thief is Harvinder Singh alias Sunny, a resident of Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. The most surprising thing is that Harvinder Singh has also won the election of independent councilor from Haldaur municipal body of Bijnor in the year 2017. This former councilor has so far committed more than 400 thefts and the police of 8 states were searching for him.
Used to target AC coach
This criminal mainly preyed on the passengers of AC coaches of trains and used to hide in the bathroom to avoid TC checking. In the year 2018 also, the police had recovered diamonds and jewels worth more than Rs 70 lakh from it. At the same time, he had stolen a passenger’s licensed revolver and lakhs of rupees in cash from Avantika Express. At present the police is strictly interrogating the accused.
