Iran’s new Defense Minister killed in Israeli attack, had assumed the post only 48 hours ago

Took over the post of Defense Minister after the death of Nasirzadeh

Syed Majid was counted among the top military officers of Iran. Before becoming the Defense Minister, he was holding the post of Brigadier General in the Iranian Army. He was especially considered an expert in military administration and logistics. He had also been the chairman of Iran’s Armed Forces Social Security Organization (SATA). It is one of the influential organizations of Iran, which handles the economic interests of the army along with the security of their families.

Due to his financial and administrative hold, he was made the Defense Minister. Apart from this, amid the instability in the country after the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, the regime needed an experienced and trustworthy person like him, who would not only have good penetration within the army but could also ensure the loyalty of the military officers.
