India kept their semi-final hopes alive in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 by defeating Bangladesh by five wickets in the match played at the Old Trafford ground on Thursday. Thanks to Shafali Verma’s explosive half-century and the disciplined performance of the bowlers, the Indian team achieved the target of 137 runs by losing five wickets in 16.5 overs. Earlier, India restricted Bangladesh to the score of 136/8 in 20 overs. Although the fielding of the Indian team was once again under question and the players dropped four catches, but the bowlers did not give the opposition batsmen a chance to play freely.
