About 12 cars and vans overturned after getting stuck in these potholes. It was fortunate that the driver escaped unhurt. The local people somehow brought them out. The entire road turned into a swamp.

Suddenly all four wheels sank. The Wagon-R car got stuck in the potholes and overturned. Three people traveling in it were taken out by the local people, they suffered minor injuries.
Municipal Commissioner saw the plight of the roads
Municipal Commissioner Santosh Kumar Vaish saw the plight of CM Grid’s work in Tajganj area. He said that the development work of CM Grid has been affected due to rain, their repairs will be done on priority basis. The places where potholes have formed due to road subsidence should be filled immediately and made safe for traffic. During this, Chief Engineer Arvind Srivastava and Junior Engineer Krishna Gopal were present.
Sewer line sunk at five places between Taj and Fort, traffic stopped
The portion of the sewer line laid under the Namami Gange scheme between Purani Mandi and Shahjahan Park near the Taj Mahal caved in after the rains. At five places between the old market and the fort, there were pits up to 15 feet wide and 4 to 8 feet deep. Due to this, vehicular traffic was stopped on the road. When Rajesh Rathore, a resident of Tajganj, saw the road sinking at many places in the morning, he put up barricades and alerted the drivers. Jalnigam’s Namami Gange Project Manager RP Singh said that due to rain, soil has sunk in the part of the sewer line. Instructions have been given to the contractor to repair and barricade the road.
