After the blast in Jalandhar, high alert has been declared in entire Punjab and security arrangements have been tightened. After inputs received from intelligence agencies, instructions have been issued to police and security agencies to exercise special vigilance.
According to sources, top police officers who arrived from Chandigarh held a high-level meeting in Jalandhar on Friday night and reviewed the entire incident. Security arrangements, progress of investigation and further strategy were discussed in detail in the meeting. Gurpreet Deo also reached Jalandhar and held a high level meeting and ordered to tighten the security arrangements. After this, deployment of security forces has been increased in railway stations, bus stands, religious places and crowded areas.
Gazetted officers have also been fielded to keep an eye on the situation. Instructions have been given that senior officers should personally patrol during the night and monitor the security arrangements so that immediate action can be taken on any suspicious activity.
At the same time, the investigating agencies are busy in the investigation keeping in mind every aspect of the blast and inputs related to suspicious activities are being continuously collected.
