Gonda News: GRP jawans were chasing the accused who escaped from custody, both his legs were cut off after being hit by a train.

A Government Railway Police (GRP) constable lost his leg after being hit by a train in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, while chasing an accused who had escaped from GRP custody. The injured soldier has been admitted to King George Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow after first aid.

Actually, this whole matter has come to light from the platform number of Gonda Railway Station, here constable Akash Singh’s leg got amputated after being hit by a train while chasing an accused on the platform. It was told that the accused Sunil Kumar, resident of Umri Begum Ganj of the district, was being taken by the GRP police for questioning. Meanwhile, the accused freed his hand from the constable and ran away. While chasing the accused, the constable came under the train.

GRP had arrived on information of commotion

It was told that the accident occurred with Dibrugarh Chandigarh Express on platform number 1 of Gonda Railway Station. Constable Akash Singh is undergoing treatment at KGMU Trauma Center in Lucknow. It is also told that at around 12:00 in the night, the GRP team reached the spot at the railway station on the information that a person had a fight with the passengers at the station.

Policeman hit by train during chase

The accused youth was brought to the police station for questioning, where the accused constable freed himself from Ashish Singh and ran away. While chasing the accused, GRP constable Akash Singh got hit by a train due to his foot slipping. The constable’s leg was amputated after being hit by a train.

The accused was arrested

Meanwhile, after first aid, the injured constable has been sent to Higher Center Lucknow for better treatment. Besides, the accused person has also been arrested. The injured constable is of 2018 batch and is a resident of Mau district. The police is investigating the entire matter.

In this regard, the GRP officer said that GRP received information that a person was harassing other passengers on Platform-1. After which the GRP team reached the spot. The police arrested the accused, during which the accused started running away from the police station. During the chase, constable Akash Singh lost his leg after being hit by a train. He has been admitted for treatment.
