A new and extremely shocking revelation has come to light in the files related to the mysterious world of American billionaire and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to the US Justice Department, a mysterious mosque has been discovered on Epstein’s private island ‘Little St. James’, about which very few people knew. This mosque not only had a golden dome, but it was also decorated with special clothes imported from Mecca and tiles imported from Uzbekistan. What did Epstein, who did not believe in any religion, want to achieve by building a luxurious mosque? You will know in the explainer…
Question 1: What shocking revelation has been made in the Epstein files regarding ‘mosque’?
answer: More than 3 million pages of files and emails released from the US Justice Department revealed the secret of a mysterious building built on Jeffrey Epstein’s private island ‘Little St. James’. This building with blue-white stripes and golden dome, which the world thought was a music room or a chapel, was actually a ‘mosque’. This was said by Epstein himself and the Romanian artist Ion Nicola who worked on this project. For its decoration, Epstein had ordered three pieces of the sacred ‘Kiswa’ from the Kaaba in Mecca.
Kiswa is a black silk scarf covered with 700 kg silk and 115 kg gold.Silver Verses of the Quran are embroidered with strings. Its cost is approximately 50 lakh dollars. Among the pieces sent to him were a green cloth which was used inside the Kaaba, another which was part of the black outer covering and the third was an embroidered cloth. Additionally, Epstein ordered hand-made tiles from a historic mosque in Uzbekistan in 2011, writing, ‘These will be for the interior walls, just like a mosque.’
The building’s golden dome was modeled after the 15th-century Yalabuga Hamam in Syria. The most shocking aspect was that Epstein wrote in an email to Nicola, ‘Instead of Allah, I thought J’s and E’s (ie the first letters of Jeffrey Epstein’s name) should be written.’

Question 2: How did Epstein obtain Kiswa from Mecca and tiles from Uzbekistan?
answer: This entire operation was made possible through Epstein’s high-level contacts with the Saudi royal court. The foundation of this network was laid around 2010 by Norwegian diplomat Terje Rode-Larsen, who introduced Epstein to Rafat al-Sabbagh, a close adviser to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and royal family aide Aziza al-Ahmadi.
Al-Ahmadi himself arranged for the Kiswa pieces of the Kaaba to be delivered to Epstein. In February 2017, his assistant emailed Epstein’s staff informing them that he was sending the pieces ‘for the mosque’. On March 4, 2017, the consignment first reached his home in Florida and was then sent to Little St. James Island via St. Thomas port. Its true identity was hidden by declaring it as ‘paintings, drawings and pastels’ on the US customs form.
Al-Ahmadi himself wrote to Epstein, ‘The black cloth that has been sent has been touched by at least one crore Muslims of Sunni, Shia and other sects. He has put his prayers, wishes, tears and hopes on this cloth. To date, it is not clear how these most sacred things of Islam reached Al-Ahmadi and the Saudi government has not given any answer on this matter.
Question 3: What did Epstein want from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS)?
answer: Epstein’s ambitions were not limited to collecting Islamic artefacts. His real purpose was to become a financial advisor to Crown Prince MBS. In 2016, when MBS was preparing to bring Saudi Arabia’s state oil company Aramco to the stock market, Epstein considered it a golden opportunity. He tried to gain direct access to the Crown Prince through Rode-Larsen and Al-Sabbagh. Al-Ahmadi instructed Epstein to tell officials at the Saudi embassy that he had been summoned by ‘Prince Mohammed bin Salman himself.’
In October 2017, Epstein himself wrote a letter to MBS, in which he made proposals such as creating a ‘fully Sharia-compliant’ cryptocurrency and selling billions of dollars worth of shares to China. He assured that his services would be completely free. Epstein flew from Paris to Riyadh in his private jet and met MBS there. She later claimed that the Crown Prince gave her a lavish gift and hung a photo of herself and MBS together in her home. When MBS ignored his advice, he became extremely angry and wrote, ‘If he had followed my advice, Saudi would not have needed such expensive aid.’
Question 4: What was Epstein’s real intention through this ‘mosque’?
answer: There were three major intentions behind this entire project:
- Expanding Impact and Reach: Epstein was a social climber who was known for associating with powerful people. This mosque and Islamic artefacts were a tool to influence the Saudi royal family and influential people in the Middle East. In a 2014 photo, Epstein is showing a piece of kiswa spread on the floor of his New York home to Emirati businessman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, then head of Dubai port company DP World. Later, due to this connection, Bin Sulayem had to resign.
- Preparation for political asylum: Epstein was under constant legal threat because of his sexual crimes. It is believed that he was preparing the ground for getting political asylum in a Muslim country, especially Saudi Arabia. He was hoping for a safe haven in case of legal trouble by proving himself to be the protector of Islam.
- Establishment of Financial Empire: He wanted access to the billion-dollar Aramco IPO and sovereign wealth fund.
Question 5: How did this whole game end and what were its consequences?
answer: Epstein’s grand plan slowly fell apart. Hurricane Maria in 2017 caused extensive damage to Little St. James Island and many valuable items kept in the ‘mosque’ were broken or damaged. When MBS ignored his advice, his hopes were dealt a major blow. In July 2019, her old case from 2008 was reopened and she was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges.
On August 10, 2019, he was found dead by hanging in the prison of the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, officially ruled as a suicide. Just two days before his death, he transferred ownership of his island to a trust. The questions did not end even after Epstein’s death.
Britain’s Prince Andrew, former President Bill Clinton and donald trump Questions kept being raised on the roles of many powerful people. When the complete details of this ‘mosque’ and Islamic artefacts were made public in March-April 2026, there was immense anger among Muslims around the world. Today the golden-domed building stands as a haunting and silent monument to one man’s twisted ambition, blatant disregard for religious symbols and blind pursuit of power.
