Gokash carrying a prize of Rs 25,000 was shot in the leg in an encounter with Aligarh Police, pistol and bike recovered.

Aligarh Police has got great success in the campaign being conducted against criminals. The joint team of Police Station Jawan Police and Criminal Intelligence Wing arrested Gokash Farman carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 after the encounter. The accused was shot in the leg during the encounter.

The arrested accused is Farman son Shahid, resident of Kathe Wali Gali, Shahjamal, Aligarh. He was absconding for a long time in the case of Cow Slaughter Prevention Act registered in Quarsi police station area.

Farman injured in retaliation

On June 28, 2026, the police team was conducting an operation in search of suspected criminals in Jawan police station area. On receiving the information the team surrounded Farman. Seeing himself surrounded, the accused opened fire on the police. The police retaliated in self-defense, in which the accused was injured. The police arrested him from the spot.

An illegal pistol (315 bore), one spent cartridge, one live cartridge and a Honda Sign motorcycle have been recovered from the possession of the accused. The injured Farman has been admitted to the district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

The accused was absconding

An incident of cow slaughter took place in Quarsi police station area on 20 September 2025. A case was registered against Farman in this case. After the arrest warrant was issued by the court on 9 December 2025, the police was continuously searching for the accused. A reward of Rs 25,000 was announced by SP Aligarh for his arrest.

SP City Aditya Bansal said that the campaign against crime and criminals is continuing in the district. Such actions will continue to arrest wanted criminals and strengthen law and order. The police have taken possession of the recovered goods and started further legal action.
