An incident of robbery of a shopkeeper at gunpoint has come to light on Damrua-Bhalua road under Bharkatta OP area of Giridih district of Jharkhand. Last night, miscreants looted Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand in cash from a jewelery shopkeeper at gunpoint. Sensation spread in the area after the incident.

Like every day, last night also he was returning from Sariya to Bharakatta after closing his shop with cash. Meanwhile, three miscreants who had already laid ambush in a deserted part of Damrua-Bhalua road, stopped them. The miscreants were riding a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle.
The miscreants captured Shankar Swarnkar at gunpoint and looted Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand from him. While leaving, the criminals also snatched his mobile phone and threw it in the bushes at some distance.

After committing the incident, the three miscreants fled away. The police is continuously busy in raiding. The victim told that three people riding on a bike were following his bike from behind. Suddenly, by overtaking the bike near the said place, the bike was stopped and the criminals carried out the robbery by placing the pistol on their ears.
After the incident, Bharkatta OP in-charge Aman Singh said that investigation has been started as soon as the information was received. The criminals are being traced. The criminals are being searched on the basis of CCTV footage installed nearby. Soon all three accused will be arrested.
