Girdhar Bisht, resident of Vaishali Sector-5, who was found dead on June 12 in Nahal Jhal of Mussoorie, Ghaziabad, returned home alive on June 25. Everyone was surprised to see him. When Girdhar’s family members asked him about his disappearance for 13 days, he simply said that he had gone after being released from jail and has now returned. Since then there is commotion in the entire area. On the other hand, many questions have also arisen in this matter.
On May 17, Kaushambi police had registered an FIR in the assault case and sent Girdhar Singh Bisht to jail. On May 21, release permit was sent from the court of ACP Shalimar Garden and Girdhar was released from jail but did not return home. The family members had lodged a missing complaint at Mussoorie police station. On June 12, an unidentified dead body was found by the police in Nahal Jhal, Mussoorie. Girdhar’s mother Devki Devi and sister Asha were called for identification. Both were identified by body injuries and similar looking clothes.
After this the body was handed over to them. The family members filed an FIR against seven people accusing them of murder and also got the post-mortem done again by a panel of doctors. They also created ruckus at the police station and demanded strict action. After this the family members also got the body cremated. Now that Girdhar has returned, a long list of questions is in front.
These questions are arising
1- Whose body did it actually belong to, which was said to be Girdhar’s?
2- On what basis did the family members identify the body?
3- What will the police do next in the registered case of murder?
4- If the relatives of the dead person come in future, what will the police do?
5- Will the police again start efforts to identify the unidentified dead body?
On receiving information about Girdhar’s return, police also reached the spot. The young man is absolutely fine and healthy. There has been no further discussion yet. At present, the young man has said that he will leave as per his wish after coming out of jail. After some time, the youth will be talked to through counselling. Abhishek Srivastava, ACP Indirapuram
