Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel has launched a strong counterattack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s address in the Lok Sabha regarding Naxalism by releasing a video on social media platform X. He said that Amit Shah is lying and challenged him to decide the stage, place, date and time, he is fully ready for the debate.
What did Amit Shah say in Parliament?
Actually, the whole matter is related to the Lok Sabha proceedings held on March 30 when Home Minister Amit Shah was presenting the government’s side regarding Naxalism. He had said that 31st March 2026 will be the last day of Naxalism in Chhattisgarh and Naxalism has almost ended from Chhattisgarh.
Shah had said that the central government had complete preparation and intelligence but the delay happened because there was a Congress government in Chhattisgarh. He said that Bihar, Maharashtra, Orissa and Jharkhand had become Naxal free before 2024 but Chhattisgarh remained so because the Congress government there had preserved Naxalism.
Baghel said – Our government always fought against Naxalism
Bhupesh Baghel completely denied these allegations and said that Amit Shah is lying in the Lok Sabha and misleading the country. He said that Congress’s stand regarding Naxalism has always been very clear and he has worked as per the policies of Congress. Baghel said that his government adopted a two-pronged strategy to fight Naxalism.
He said that firstly, to earn the trust of the people of Bastar and secondly, as Naxalism retreated, to do development work there. He said that his government gave forest rights leases to the tribals, opened schools, made arrangements for treatment and gave them ration cards, whereas the BJP government had deprived them of all these things. The result of our work was that people’s confidence in the mainstream increased and they left Naxalism behind. He claimed that his government vacated 600 villages from Naxalites.
Apologized to Amit Shah calling it an insult to the martyrdom of BRG soldiers
Baghel said that the BRG soldiers who were martyred were appointed by the Chhattisgarh government and it is because of their martyrdom that Naxalism is taking its last breaths. He said that in such a situation Amit Shah ji is insulting those martyred soldiers. Baghel reminded Amit Shah that he had said that every village that becomes Naxal free will be given one crore rupees, so today is March 31 and according to him Chhattisgarh has become free, so when is he going to give one crore rupees to the villages of Bastar.
Former Chief Minister Amit Shah He also demanded an apology from the people of Chhattisgarh and said that all his works are recorded in the records, look at the figures.
