Explainer: From Sonam-Muskaan to Siya, why is the youth choosing the path of murder, is it so difficult to end the relationship? – From Sonam And Muskan To Siya: Why Are Young People Choosing Murder Over Ending A Relationship?

What is the impact of continuous occurrence of such cases on the society?

Dr. Satyakant says that the most disturbing thing in these cases is the loss of trust, now you are not able to trust your fiance, your life partner or anyone. Now people are wondering whom we should trust and whom we should not. This should not be seen simply as a love affair. There is a lack of empathy within us. Our morality is declining and a mixture of extreme forms of selfishness can be seen in such cases.

Why do children choose such a path by not telling their parents about their problems?

Dr. Sameeksha says that even today in many families, things like caste, religion, respect of society and what people will say are given great importance. People growing up in such an environment are often afraid to express their feelings openly, where the family is more progressive and open-minded, there is more freedom in taking decisions regarding relationships and marriage, but in many families marriage is considered the final and unbreakable bond of life. In such a situation, pressure increases regarding breaking of relationships or choosing a partner of choice, due to which some people move towards taking wrong decisions.

At the same time, Dr. Satyakant says that material upliftment is not going along with family upliftment, our society has progressed only a little. The gap between material progress and family traditions is huge. Due to this, the complications that are arising in human relationships, we are still carrying things forward in a conservative manner, whereas the times have changed.

Should these cases be considered mere crimes?

Dr. Satyakant says that it is not right to see these cases only as crimes, it is bringing our discomforts into reality, why are people being uncomfortable in Siya’s case as to how the girl killed? But in the mind of the criminal, his own selfish interest was to be fulfilled. Instead of just looking at it as a crime, it should be seen as an attack on the changing scenario and the complexities of the human mind and our built beliefs. People are looking at this news like how a 20 year old girl turned out to be a murderer? She was getting a millionaire boy, then how did she commit murder, but the one who was committing the crime had no such thoughts in his mind.

Dr. Samiksha says that such cases should not be seen in terms of gender but in the sense that the nature of every person is different, the person who is committing murder does not have any thoughts about his gender in his mind, he just wants to end his problem.
