ASI conducted survey for 98 days

On the orders of the High Court, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) conducted a 98-day survey in the Bhojshala complex last year and presented a survey report running into two thousand pages. The sculptures, inscriptions, coins etc. found in Bhojshala during the survey were also mentioned in its report and the construction structure was dated to the 12th century. The Central Archaeological Survey also presented its stand. The officers told the court that a huge structure existed at this site during the reign of Parmar kings and the present construction was also made with the same stones. The Muslim side lodged its objection on this survey and termed the survey wrong. This party had also asked for videography of the survey, which was given on the instructions of the court.

Citing a report of more than two thousand pages, ASI said that the architectural remains, fragments of sculptures, large inscriptions containing literary texts, Nagakarnika inscriptions on pillars etc. found indicate that there was a large structure associated with literary and educational activities at the site. On the basis of scientific investigation and archaeological remains found in excavation, this earlier structure can be considered to be of Parmar period.
