On completion of 51 years of imposition of Emergency in the country, Haryana Government’s Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa made a scathing attack on Congress. He said that on June 25, 1975, the then Congress government had pushed the country into emergency to save its power and chair. This was the biggest attack on democracy and the Constitution, which the country still remembers as “Black Day”.

Minister Ranbir Gangwa said that during the Emergency, opposition leaders were put in jail and democratic rights were violated. He said that today the Congress talks about the Bharatiya Janata Party government as a threat to the Constitution, whereas the work of breaking the limits of the Constitution and strangulating democracy was done during the Congress rule.

Gangwa said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had shown his commitment towards the Constitution by bowing to it while entering the temple of democracy in Parliament. Minister Ranbir Gangwa said that the coming generation of the country should know about the struggles and sacrifices of freedom fighters. He said that the youth should understand the importance of democracy and the Constitution, so that they can protect it and keep the democratic traditions of the country strong.

He said that strengthening of democracy is possible only when people remain aware of their rights and duties. The history of Emergency is an important lesson for the country, which should not be forgotten.

Opposition surrounded on water movement of Chanaut village

Minister Ranbir Gangwa also targeted the opposition parties on the ongoing agitation regarding drinking water problem in Chanaut village of Hansi district. He said that the opposition is doing politics on this issue and trying to mislead the villagers.

Gangwa said that the budget of Amrit Yojana is earmarked for urban areas and Jal Jeevan Mission for rural areas. He said that the pipeline passing near Chanaut village has been laid under the AMRUT scheme, hence as per rules, water cannot be provided to the village through it.

Government told alternative arrangements

The minister said that the government has decided to provide water to Chanaut village from the same canal under an alternative arrangement. For this, work of laying a separate pipeline has also been done. He alleged that the opposition is only trying to instigate the villagers with the aim of taking political advantage.
