
Taking major action against drug smuggling, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has recovered 1.436 kg of fine quality hashish and arrested two accused. The price of the recovered hashish in the international market is said to be around Rs 60 lakh. According to the police, this hashish was brought from Malana village of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh and it was to be supplied in Mumbai. Where it is in great demand in parties and night life.
The accused were caught just before the train left
On March 19, the ARSC team of the Crime Branch had received information that a smuggler resident of Himachal Pradesh was going to come to Delhi to supply charas. Based on the information a team was formed. The police team first laid a trap on GT Karnal bypass. But sensing the presence of the police, the accused left from there.
After this the team checked the buses coming from Himachal at ISBT Kashmiri Gate. But the accused still managed to dodge the police. Eventually the police got information that the accused were going to Mumbai by train. After this, the team reached Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and caught both the accused a few minutes before the departure of the general coach of Maharashtra Sampark Kranti Express.
More than 1 kg of fine quality hashish recovered
During the search, 1.436 kg of fine quality hashish was recovered from the accused. In this regard, a case has been registered in the Crime Branch police station under Section 20/29 of the NDPS Act. During interrogation, the accused told that this hashish was purchased from Naulu Ram, resident of Malana village of Kullu district.
The police team also raided his house in Malana, but he was found absconding. The police is now busy searching for him. Relatives of both the accused arrested. Accused Om Chand alias Omu is a resident of Himachal Pradesh. He drives a Tata Sumo taxi there. The second accused is Pyare Singh Omu’s cousin and both are residents of the same village. The police is now busy identifying the main suppliers associated with this network and the people taking drugs in Mumbai.
