
Taking major action against drug smuggling, the Special Staff Team of Delhi Police has arrested notorious kingpin Kusum. A reward of Rs 50 thousand was declared on Kusum and she was absconding for a long time. According to the police, he was an important link in a large and organized drug syndicate, whose network was spread in many states including Delhi.
Operation lasted for two months, 200 CCTVs searched
Police said that a continuous operation was carried out for about two months to catch Kusum. During this period, the team scanned more than 200 CCTV footage and examined more than 100 mobile phone records. Apart from Delhi, raids were conducted at many places in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, only then the police got concrete information about his location.
On April 9, the police received accurate information about Kusum’s whereabouts. The team immediately laid a trap and cordoned off the area. As soon as the informer identified her, Kusum tried to run away but the police acted swiftly and caught her on the spot. His arrest is being considered a major success against the drugs network.
She ran the entire network with her family.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Kusum’s network was very large and organized, in which her family members were also included. His daughters Deepa and Chiku have already been arrested in the MCOCA case. Apart from this, his brother Hariom and associate Ravi are also said to be part of this network.
According to the police, Kusum used to work in a very vicious manner. She did not use a smartphone, changed her phone and SIM frequently and kept changing her place of residence constantly so as to escape from the police.
The court had declared him a fugitive
Kusum was declared a fugitive by the Rohini court in August 2025. She is a resident of Sultanpuri area and several cases are registered against her under the NDPS Act.
From 2003 to 2024, more than 10 cases of drug smuggling have been registered against him. At present, the police is busy searching for other people associated with his network and more arrests may be made in the coming days.
