Delhi News: Cricket betting racket with Dubai connection busted, four accused arrested

Delhi Police has busted a big network of online cricket betting and exposed the illegal racket operating in the capital. Four accused were arrested red handed in the joint action of Special Task Force and South West District Police. According to the police, the accused were placing illegal bets on international and domestic cricket matches through an online platform named ‘JANNAT 247’.

According to the information, investigation has revealed that this entire network was being operated from Dubai. Whereas its local module was working while sitting in Delhi. The police are now also investigating other people and funding networks associated with this racket.

Police raided and arrested four accused

On March 1, 2026, Delhi Police received information from an informer to STF that illegal business of online cricket betting was going on in Paschim Vihar area. After confirming the information, Delhi Police team conducted a raid. During the raid, the police found many people on the spot conducting betting through mobiles and laptops. Seeing the police team, the accused tried to run away but alert policemen caught all four on the spot.

Delhi Police found Dubai connection during investigation

The four accused arrested by Delhi Police have been identified as Dipanshu Sardana, Eric Giri alias Nandu Giri, Ramanpreet, Harjinder alias Hung. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused had gone to Dubai and taken training to operate online betting and the JANNAT 247 app was also being operated from there. Police are now investigating this international link. Police have seized a huge quantity of electronic and banking goods from the spot.

Delhi Police registered a case, investigation continues

Delhi Police has registered a case in this matter under Section 3/4 of Delhi Public Gambling Act at Paschim Vihar East police station. All the accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway.
