
In a major blow to the crime syndicate operating in the capital, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two dangerous sharpshooters of the notorious Himanshu alias ‘Bhau’ gang after an encounter. In this cross firing that took place in Baba Haridas Nagar area, a miscreant was injured by police bullets. It was fortunate that the bullet fired by the accused hit the bulletproof jacket of a policeman, due to which a major accident was averted.
According to police officials, the encounter took place on the Hirankundna to Dichaun Kalan road at around 1 am on the intervening night of 22-23 January. After receiving intelligence, the crime branch surrounded a white car under the flyover. Seeing themselves surrounded, the miscreants in the car started firing at the police team. During this time, a bullet hit head constable Sandeep on his chest, but his life was saved because he was wearing a bulletproof jacket.
‘Mowgli’ injured in retaliatory firing
The police retaliated in self-defense, in which a bullet hit the leg of the miscreant Vicky alias Mowgli. After this, the police caught Vicky and his associate Chander Bhan from the spot. Injured Vicky was immediately admitted to the hospital. It is being told that Haryana Police had also declared a reward on Vicky. Both of them were wanted in many serious cases like murder, attempt to murder and extortion.
Arms supply network busted
After the arrest of the miscreants, the police have also destroyed their arms supply network. Based on interrogation, the police arrested Yameen Khan from Aligarh, Satish alias Dallu from Gautam Buddha Nagar and later Ishwar Singh alias Sonu from Badli. In this entire operation, the police have so far recovered a total of 5 pistols, 28 live cartridges and two cars used in the crime. The police are now searching for other members of the gang.
