
Due to a technical glitch during training, a seaplane had to be stopped on the runway at Dehradun Airport. Seeing sparks coming from the wheel of the plane, the airport authority came on alert mode. Airport fire brigade also reached the spot. For security reasons, the plane has been removed from the runway and parked in the parking lot.
Skyhop Aviation’s seaplane was on its training flight at Dehradun Airport at around 4.30 pm on Saturday evening. As soon as the plane took off on the runway, sparks started coming out from the wheels. After which the pilot stopped the plane.
For security reasons, airport fire department personnel also reached the runway with the fire vehicle. After which, for security reasons, the aircraft was parked at a safe place near the hangar on the side of the runway. This is the first case when such problems have occurred in the wheels of a seaplane at Dehradun Airport.
Airport director Bhupesh CH Negi said the seaplane was on its training flight. Due to sparking from the wheel of the aircraft, the aircraft has been parked at a safe place on the runway for safety reasons.
