Dehradun: Politics intensifies on smart city, questions on city roads, BJP MLAs also dissatisfied

Politics regarding smart city has intensified in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. While dreaming of a smart city, the roads of Dehradun are still dug up. The schemes are buried in files and the common man is forced to travel in the dust. Even after spending crores of rupees, the picture on the ground is not changing. The situation is such that the ruling BJP MLAs themselves are not satisfied with this work and are openly expressing their displeasure. While talking to the journalists, BJP MLA Khajan Das clearly said that the work should have been done at the pace and manner to make Dehradun a smart city, and he himself is not satisfied with it. This statement is also important because it has not come from the opposition camp but from the ruling party’s own representative.

MLA defended the government

However, MLA Khajan Das, while defending the government, also said that the development work is going on continuously and the plans keep changing according to the new needs. He also believes that to implement any development work on the ground, coordination between officials and public representatives is very important and the lack of this is becoming a hindrance in these works.

The MLA also said that the executing agency to which the Smart City work was entrusted did not fulfill its responsibility properly and due to negligence the work could not be completed on time. After this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami intervened and assigned this work to his executive body of the state. The MLA claims that now the remaining work will be completed soon.

Congress alleged scam

At the same time, Congress is not satisfied with this clarification. State General Secretary of Congress Rajendra Shah said with a sharp tone that ever since the budget for Smart City came, the rift between officials and leaders had started.

He said that Congress had warned at the same time to stop this loot and show the money on the ground. Today, if BJP’s own MLAs are raising questions, it confirms the same allegations of Congress.

Scam worth crores has happened in smart city – Rajendra Shah

Rajendra Shah further said that a scam worth crores has taken place in the smart city. The city roads were dug up, the work was left incomplete and the trenches that were closed were not even filled with soil properly. He warned that when the rains come, these roads will sink, vehicles will get stuck and the general public will have to face huge problems.

Shah said that all this is just on paper Budget This is the result of show-off and catering, the cost of which will have to be paid by the people of Dehradun and the entire responsibility for this will be on the government.

Politics intensifies on smart city

At present the issue of smart city has taken political colour. On one hand, the ruling party MLAs themselves are expressing dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work, while on the other hand, the opposition is alleging scam. It remains to be seen when this city will finally be able to fulfill the dream of a smart city with the help of the new executive body.
