Char Dham Yatra: Number Of Pilgrims Visiting The Shrines Crosses 40 Lakh In 67 Days, Kedarnath Reached Most

The number of devotees who visited Chardham Dham Yatra in 67 days has crossed 40 lakhs. In this, maximum number of 13.31 lakh devotees visited Kedarnath. Now gradually the crowd of devotees in Badrinath and Kedarnath is becoming normal.


The Chardham Yatra started with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham on 19th April. The Yatra was conducted fully after the doors of Kedarnath Dham opened on 22nd April and Badrinath Dham on 23rd April. According to the data released by the Tourism Department, till June 24, more than 40 lakh devotees have visited. At the beginning of the Yatra, arrangements were falling short due to the huge crowd for darshan at the Dhams.

Up to 30 thousand devotees were visiting Kedarnath Dham in a day and 25 thousand devotees were visiting Badrinath Dham in a day. Devotees had to wait for hours in lines to have darshan in the Dhams. Now this number is gradually decreasing. At present eight to nine thousand devotees and 15 to 17 thousand devotees are visiting Badrinath. In the last one week, the number of people visiting Chardham and Hemkund Sahib every day is less than 40 thousand. Whereas initially this number had reached 90 thousand.
