Big action by Vigilance Bureau in Ludhiana, ASI arrested for asking for shoes with Rs 10,000

Ludhiana Bribery Case: Another major action has come to light amid the ongoing campaign against corruption in Punjab. Vigilance Bureau today arrested Naib Court (ASI) Tarlochan Singh, posted in a court in Ludhiana, red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. The accused had also demanded shoes of a famous brand along with the bribe, due to which this matter came into discussion even more.

Vigilance Bureau spokesperson said that this action was taken on the basis of the complaint of a resident of Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana. A case was earlier registered against the complainant, during which the police confiscated his licensed pistol. The complainant had initiated legal action to get his pistol back.

Demand for shoes along with bribe

According to the complaint, accused Naib Court Tarlochan Singh had demanded Rs 10,000 in cash and shoes of Skechers company in return for helping him in getting his pistol back. The complainant recorded the entire conversation with the accused and contacted Vigilance Bureau Range, Ludhiana.

After preliminary investigation of the complaint, the vigilance team planned and laid a trap. As soon as the complainant gave Rs 10,000 and gray sketcher shoes to the accused ASI, the vigilance team immediately took action and arrested him on the spot.

Arrested red handed after laying a trap

The Vigilance team said that they took this action in the presence of two government witnesses, so that the entire matter remains clear. Along with this, they caught the accused red handed while taking bribe.

A case has been registered against the accused Tarlochan Singh under the Anti-Corruption Act at Vigilance Bureau Police Station, Ludhiana. The police are now investigating whether the accused has collected money from people in this manner before also.
