Former Chief Minister of Haryana and senior Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda reached Karnal and spoke openly on cross-voting and political developments in the Rajya Sabha elections. He has made serious allegations against the ruling party (BJP) of violating democratic norms during elections and forcibly canceling votes.
On the issue of cross-voting of Congress MLAs in the Rajya Sabha elections, Hooda made it clear that the party will not save anyone in this matter. When the media questioned that the Congress in-charge has so far revealed the names of only four MLAs, Hooda said that within a day or two the name of the fifth MLA will also be revealed. However, while giving a big statement, he also made it clear that the MLAs who have cross-voted will not lose their ‘Vidhyayakti’ (membership of the Legislative Assembly).
‘BJP tried to strangle democracy’
The former CM informed that he met the Governor today and informed him about the entire incident that happened during the elections. Hooda launched a scathing attack on the ruling party and alleged that democracy, the dignity of the Assembly and the honor of the MLAs have been hurt in the Rajya Sabha elections. He claimed that to win the election, all tactics were used, coercion was used and 4 votes were deliberately cancelled.
Bluntly on the statements of Kuldeep Vats and Shaili Chaudhary
Hooda gave a measured reaction to the statement given by Congress MLA Kuldeep Vats about ‘game of big bosses’. He said that Vats has not said anything wrong, this game must have been played by some big leader of BJP.
At the same time, Hooda took a tough stand on the statement of MLA Shaili Chaudhary, who was surrounded by allegations of cross voting, to release the videography and challenge her to leave politics. He bluntly said that Shaili Chaudhary should simply reply to the show cause notice sent by the party.
