Demonstration of workers continues in Bhiwadi regarding salary increase. Hundreds of workers have sat on strike since 7 am on Tuesday (April 14) outside the gate of Motherson India Private Limited Company located in Pathreddy Industrial Area. Around 1000 to 2000 male and female employees gathered in front of the company gate and started shouting slogans.
The main demands of the employees are a fair increase in wages, improvement in working hours and stoppage of alleged abusive behaviour, assault and threats by higher officials of the company. The workers allege that they are being harassed by threatening to expel them from the company.
More than 8 thousand employees work in the company
A total of more than 8000 employees work in the company, out of which a large number of workers sat on strike at the gate on Tuesday. Heavy deployment of Bhiwadi police has been made on the spot. Senior officials including the Chopanki police station officer are present and are trying to pacify the workers.
However, the matter has not calmed down yet and the protest is continuing. A large number of women employees are also involved in the protest. The police are continuing talks with the protesting workers. The workers are adamant on salary increase and other reasonable demands.
Company management informed the police
The company management immediately informed the Chopanki police station. The police force has arrived and is busy controlling the situation. At present there is no news of violence or vandalism, but a tense atmosphere remains. The workers are raising slogans against the company management.
