On Friday morning, an incident took place in Siswari village under Walterganj police station area in Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, which has shocked human sensibilities. A crazy young man, crazy in unrequited love, tried to kill a girl who was sleeping in her house by throwing acid through the window. The girl’s face and hands were badly burnt in this attack. He was immediately admitted to the district hospital, where his condition remains critical.
According to the police, the sister of Seraj Ahmed, resident of Siswari village, was sleeping near the window in her room in the early hours of Friday. Since it was early morning, all the members of the house were in deep sleep. Meanwhile, the accused lying in ambush poured acid on the girl from the window. As soon as the acid was spilled, the girl’s screams created a stir in the house. By the time the family members ran towards the room, the attacker had fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness. The intensity of the acid was so high that the girl’s face and upper body were seriously burnt.
It’s a matter of one-sided love
A case of one-sided love is coming to light behind the incident. The accused has been identified as Salim, a resident of Moradabad district. It is being told that the accused was pressurizing the girl for marriage, but the girl’s family had fixed her marriage somewhere else. Salim was very angry with this and had earlier also threatened to kill the girl. The girl’s brother Seraj told that the accused has committed this dreadful incident due to rivalry.
Police started investigation
As soon as information about the incident was received, Walterganj police and area officer Satyendra Bhushan Tiwari reached the spot. A forensic team was called to collect evidence, which collected samples from the spot. There is an atmosphere of tension and panic in the village since the incident. The police have registered a case against the accused Salim on the complaint of the victim’s brother.
Claim of early arrest
Regarding this matter, DSP Satyendra Bhushan Tiwari said that on the complaint of the victim’s brother Seraj Ahmed, a case has been registered against the accused Salim under serious sections. The forensic team has investigated the spot. The location of the accused is being traced and three police teams have been formed to nab him. The accused will be arrested soon and strict legal action will be taken.
