Australian Cricket Board in mood for action, now investigation will be conducted after being out of T20 World Cup

Melbourne: The biggest upset of the T20 World Cup was Australia’s exit from the tournament in the first round. The Kangaroo team could not qualify for the Super-8 after losing to Zimbabwe and then Sri Lanka in the very first match. Now Cricket Australia is going to institute an investigation regarding the shameful performance of the team.

Selector Tony Dodemide said that the performance will be thoroughly reviewed after the players return home. According to cricket.com AU, Dodemide said:

The way we performed in the tournament is really disappointing, but for now we will wait. It is important for us that we perform well against Oman. When our team returns, we will thoroughly analyze its performance.

Australia had landed without injured and big players
The team was playing without its main fast bowling attack as Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood were ruled out of the tournament due to injuries, while Mitchell Starc has retired from T20 International cricket. During the tournament, captain Mitchell Marsh could not play in the first two matches, due to which the balance of the team got disturbed to a great extent.

Australia out in the first round for the first time since 2009
Australia will play its last match against Oman on Friday, but it no longer matters. Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka have reached the Super Eights, while Australia has failed to progress beyond the group stage for the first time since 2009.

The next T20 World Cup will be played in Australia and New Zealand. Dodemide said, ‘We want to win every World Cup, no matter where it is. The next World Cup is on home ground. We would like to perform well on home ground. Now we have a match against Oman and we want to finish it on a high note.
