Public trust is completely with BJP- Chauhan
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has described the third consecutive victory of the BJP-led NDA in Assam as the victory of Prime Minister Modi’s development agenda and public-welfare policies. Chauhan, who reached Guwahati to attend the swearing-in ceremony, said that the record-breaking majority shows that the public trust is completely with the BJP. Taking a dig at the Congress, he said that the opposition has now become only a communal party, while Assam has now moved strongly towards a secure and developed future.

In the Assam Assembly elections, the BJP-led NDA returned to power for the third consecutive time and maintained its political lead. NDA has performed brilliantly in the state by capturing 102 out of 126 seats. BJP has strengthened its hold by winning 82 seats alone. With this overwhelming majority, Himanta Biswa Sarma will take charge as the Chief Minister of Assam for the second consecutive time. His popularity and efficient strategies have led the alliance to this historic success. Congress and the opposition alliance lagged behind in putting up an effective challenge in many areas, which benefited the BJP.
