Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has responded to BJP state president Madan Rathore regarding the 75-year formula for retirement from politics. Gehlot hit back and said that he wants to serve Rajasthan for 100 years. If you want to implement the 75 year formula then do it on Narendra Modi and Mohan Bhagwat first. This policy is of his party.
Congress leader Ashok Gehlot gave statements on many issues while talking to the media at Jaipur airport after returning from campaigning for the assembly elections in Kerala. In response to media questions, Gehlot said, “I have already said, this will be implemented. Narendra Modi But what is his name, Mohan Bhagwat of our RSS, will be applicable to him.”
The former Chief Minister further said, “Gandhiji had said that I want to serve for 125 years and these fundamentalists murdered him. I want to serve the people of the state and the countrymen for 100 years. So retirement cannot be applicable to me. Now I don’t know in what context he has said it, why he has said it. He would know, but because he is told from above that what line do you have to take today, to his ministers, to his leaders, He is the one who takes the line.” Gehlot said who are they to give us advice? He has started doing full Congress politics. How can they tell Congress leaders what they should do and what they should not do?
Gehlot took a dig at Mohan Rathod
Taking a dig at Rathod, Gehlot said, “They are not responding to the issues we have raised with them and are giving evasive answers. These people are being insulted because you at least give an answer, give anything negative, give positive, say anything, but you are talking out of context.” Let us tell you that Madan Rathod had said that Gehlot’s political charisma has now ended. His tenure has completed, now the new generation should be allowed to come forward. Rathore had sarcastically said, ‘Wherever Gehlot went, he has caused loss to the party. Now he has moved to Delhi and I wish him all the best for this.
BJP and RSS are a threat to democracy
Apart from this, regarding the program of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Rajasthan University, Gehlot said that RSS and BJP are organizations with the same ideology and both are a threat to democracy. Commenting on Prime Minister Modi’s statement that “something big is about to happen”, the senior Congress leader said that this statement is similar to the style of US President Donald Trump. Trump often makes such statements and himself calls Modi his friend.
After this, regarding the situation of Congress in Kerala, he said that Congress is in a strong position there and has promised to implement “Right to Health” after coming to power. He expressed confidence that his party will register victory in the upcoming elections. He also said that Congress is fully prepared for the elections to be held in five states and the party is in a strong position in other states including Kerala.
