In a horrific head-on collision between a canter and a truck on Monday night near Mutavai village on the Agra-Fatehabad road, both the drivers died tragically on the spot. Due to this accident, traffic on the road was disrupted for about an hour. As soon as the information was received, the local police reached the spot and sent both the bodies for post-mortem.

According to the police, the accident occurred around 11:45 pm on Monday night when a canter vehicle loaded with salty snacks was coming from Agra. Meanwhile, a truck full of bricks coming from Fatehabad towards Agra came from the opposite direction. There was a direct collision between the two vehicles near Mutavai village. The collision was so strong that the canter overturned on the road, due to which the traffic on both sides came to a complete halt.

Police readiness to ensure smooth traffic

As soon as information about the accident was received, the police of Fatehabad and Dauki police station areas immediately became active. Policemen reached the spot and carried out the work of removing the damaged vehicles from the road on a war footing. After a lot of effort the traffic could be made smooth. Meanwhile, the bodies of the drivers of both the vehicles were removed from the accident site and sent for post-mortem, so that further legal action could be completed.

Causes of accident and rescue operations

In the preliminary investigation, the cause of the accident is believed to be high speed and possibly driving in the wrong direction. According to eyewitnesses, the sound of the collision was heard far away. Due to the overturning of the canter, the goods loaded in it also got scattered on the road, due to which the rescue operations took more time. The police are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter to find out the exact cause of the accident and prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
