A tragic accident took place in front of Parvati Ghat under Kamla Nagar police station area of Agra, where three children died due to drowning in Yamuna river. It is being told that the children from Shobha Nagar area had come to their relative’s place to attend the birthday program. In the morning all the children planned to take bath in Yamuna river and reached the ghat. While bathing, suddenly some children fell into a deep pit.
According to eyewitnesses, seeing a child drowning, other children came forward to save him, but in the meantime, one after another the children drowned in the deep water. There was chaos among the people present at the ghat and the local people immediately started trying to save the children.
PAC team and divers conducted rescue operation
As soon as information about the incident was received, the area police reached the spot. Police started the rescue operation with the help of PAC team, divers and steamer. On receiving information that a total of six children were drowning, five children were taken out and immediately taken to the hospital.
During treatment in the hospital, Kanha, Riya and Mehak were declared dead by the doctors, while Kajal and Anshu were said to be safe. The search for another child is continuing. A team of police and divers are continuously conducting search operations in the Yamuna river. After the incident, a large crowd of people gathered at the ghat and the family members started crying and crying.
Three out of five children died during treatment in rescue.
DCP City Syed Ali Abbas said that Kamla Nagar police station had received information about the drowning of six children in the Yamuna river. As soon as the information was received, the police team immediately reached the spot and the rescue operation was conducted with the help of PAC team. He said that five children were taken out, out of which Kanha, Riya and Mehak died during treatment, while Kajal and Anshu are safe.
Police team and rescue team are present on the spot and efforts are continuing to recover the remaining child. According to officials, the accident occurred when the children went into deep water in an attempt to save each other.
‘All possible assistance will be provided from the government’
On receiving information about the tragic incident, MLA Dr Dharampal Singh reached the spot and took stock of the incident. He met the families of the victims and consoled them. MLA Dr Dharampal Singh said that the administration will provide every possible help to the affected families and assistance will also be provided from the government.
ADM Finance Shubhangi Shukla, who reached the spot, also described the incident as very sad. He said that the administration will help the affected families. According to ADM Finance Shubhangi Shukla, the main reason for the accident was children falling into deep water while saving each other, due to which this major accident occurred.
