Heartbreaking news has come out from Katihar, where a horrific road accident shook the entire Kodha area. There was a massive collision between a bus and a pickup van on NH-31 near Datpur Mushari Chowk near Basgada Chowk. The accident was so terrible that four people riding on two motorcycles died on the spot.
10 people have died so far
According to eyewitnesses, more than 10 people have lost their lives in the accident so far, while more than 25 people are said to be injured. The condition of many of the injured remains critical, although official confirmation is awaited.
The bus driver was intoxicated
It is being told that the driver of the bus going from Harda to Purnia was in an intoxicated state and had already collided at one or two places on the way. As soon as the bus reached near Datpur Mushari Chowk, it had a direct collision with a pickup van coming from the front. The collision was so severe that two bikes passing nearby also got hit by it. There was chaos at the spot after the accident. Local villagers and police immediately got involved in relief work and the injured are being taken to the hospital. There is mourning in the area and screams are heard everywhere.

What did the police tell?
In the matter, Katihar Police said that a horrific road accident took place between a bus and a pickup vehicle near Gedabari under Kodha police station area on Saturday evening, in which 10 people have tragically died so far. As soon as information about the incident was received, the local police took immediate action and reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. About 25 people injured in the accident are being sent to nearby hospitals for better treatment after first aid. The law and order situation at the incident site is completely under control and the traffic system is also being made smooth. Further action is being taken.
