
Cyber police station in Panipat, Haryana has achieved a big success. The police have arrested an inter-state vicious fraudster from Uttar Pradesh who duped medical students (MBBS) of lakhs of rupees by promising them admission in MD. The accused used to trap girls on social media by pretending to be a doctor of PGI, Chandigarh.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Satish Vats said that Dr. Harsimran Kaur, resident of Chandni Bagh area (who is currently doing PG from UCMC Delhi) had lodged a complaint in the cyber crime police station. Dr. Kaur told that after completing MBBS in 2022, she had to do Post Graduation (MD). During this time, he met a person on Instagram, whose ID was Drnikhil90.
The accused introduced himself as a doctor of Chandigarh PGI and gave a firm assurance of getting admission in ‘MD Dermatology’ at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. To win trust, the accused created a fake ID on Rediffmail and also sent a fake confirmation email in the name of KGMU Lucknow.

Secret revealed on not getting admission
The victim believed the words of ‘Doctor Nikhil’ and transferred Rs 14 lakh through UPI to the bank accounts specified by him. When admission was not done even after a long time, the victim along with her family went to KGMU. Lucknow Reached. There it was found that he had not been admitted and that email was also fake. After this, the number of ‘Doctor Nikhil’ also started getting switched off. Upon realizing that she was cheated, Dr. Kaur lodged a case with the police under Section 318(4) of BNS.
The vicious man was caught from UP on the instructions of SP
Considering the seriousness of the case, Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhupendra Singh IPS entrusted the team of cyber crime station in-charge Sub-Inspector Deepak with the responsibility of catching the accused soon. On the basis of technical investigation, the police arrested the main accused from Kutesara village in Muzaffarnagar, UP on Wednesday. His real identity has been revealed as Shahdujaman (son of Mohammad Akhtar, resident of Kutesara, Muzaffarnagar).
The accused is 12th pass, cheated more than 15 girls
DSP Satish Vats said that during the remand interrogation, shocking revelations were made:
- The accused has studied only till 12th, but to cheat the medical students, he used the name ‘Dr. Created a fake Instagram profile in the name of ‘Nikhil’ and had posted pictures of PGI Chandigarh campus on it.
- He used to target only those girls who are doing or have done MBBS.
- On coming to know of the fraud, he would immediately block the girl’s number and ID.
- Till now, he has cheated more than 15 girls in different states in the name of admission.
- Earlier in the year 2020, he was caught in a fraud case registered in Delhi’s Hauz Khas police station and was currently out on bail.
Rs 6 lakh frozen, accused in jail
Police have recovered a mobile phone and two SIM cards from the possession of the accused during remand. Also, the police have frozen Rs 6 lakh in the bank accounts in which the defrauded amount had gone. After completion of the three-day remand period, on Sunday the police presented the accused Shahduzzaman in the court, from where he has been sent to judicial custody (jail).
