
The results of the elections of Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis in Maharashtra were declared on Monday (February 9). Shinde faction’s Shiv Sena has performed extremely well in Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad. Shinde faction has won unilaterally in this Zilla Parishad. Here Shiv Sena has won 40 seats. While BJP’s performance has not been better, it has become the fourth number party here. BJP has won only 4 seats. There are a total of 56 seats in Ratnagiri District Council.
With this, Shiv Sena of Uddhav Thackeray faction has won 6 seats. Ajit Pawar The faction’s NCP has got 5 seats while Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has got only one seat. The worst situation was for Congress and Sharad Pawar group. Congress and NCP (SP) could not even open their accounts.

How much voting took place in Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad?
In Ratnagiri district, 55.79 percent voting took place for Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti. Out of 56 seats in Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad, 38 seats are for general category, out of which 18 seats are reserved for women. 15 seats are for OBC category, out of which 8 are for women, 2 for SC, 1 seat for women and 1 seat for ST.
There are no seats reserved for backward class women in the district council of any of the districts of Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Lanja and Rajpur of South Ratnagiri and Mandangad taluks of North Ratnagiri. However, the seats of Lote, Bharna, Virachiwadi in Khed taluka, Shirgaon in Chiplun, Alor, Dabhol in Dapoli, Palgarh and Kondkarul in Guhagar were reserved for backward class women.
Voting was held in Maharashtra on Saturday for the election of 731 members of 12 district councils Raigarh, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Parbhani, Dharashiv and Latur.
