New Delhi. Namibia will face Pakistan in their fourth and final match of Group A of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on Wednesday (February 18). This match, which will start at 3 pm on Wednesday at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, is a must win for 2009 T20 World Cup winner Pakistan. If the Namibian team, captained by Gerhard Erasmus, defeats Pakistan in Colombo on Wednesday, then Pakistan will be out of the T20 World Cup 2026 from the group stage itself.
What will happen to Pakistan after defeat?
Pakistan has moved up to third place in the points table after losing its third Group A match against India by 61 runs in Colombo on Sunday (February 15). Now it cannot afford to lose against Namibia. If Pakistan loses to Namibia by any margin, they will remain below the United States in the points table and will not be able to qualify for the Super 8s.
What will happen to Pakistan if it rains?
If the match between Pakistan and Namibia in Colombo is canceled due to rain, then both the teams will get one point each and in such a situation Pakistan will remain second in the Group A points table and will reach the Super 8.

Pakistan’s defeat against Namibia on Wednesday evening will not ensure USA’s place in the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2026. They will now have to wait for the result of the India-Netherlands match in Ahmedabad. If Netherlands surprises India by defeating India by a huge margin at the Narendra Modi Stadium, then the team captained by Scott Edwards will also finish with 4 points in the group stage and in such a situation, the team which has better Net Run Rate (NRR) among USA and Netherlands, will reach the Super 8.
India has already qualified for Super 8 from Group A. If Pakistan reaches the Super 8 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, it will face New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka.
