West Bengal: Owaisi’s alliance with Humayun Kabir in Bengal, difficult fight for Mamata Banerjee’s TMC – West Bengal Assembly Election Humayun Kabir Alliance With Asaduddin Owaisi Tension For Mamata TMC

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM has announced an alliance with Humayun Kabir’s party Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) for the West Bengal elections. Humayun Kabir has been an MLA from Trinamool Congress, but last year TMC expelled Kabir from the party, after which Humayun Kabir decided to form a new party Aam Janata Unnayan Party.

Humayun Kabir announces to contest elections on 182 seats

Humayun Kabir has decided to contest on 182 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. Humayun Kabir has also announced the names of his candidates on 15 seats. Humayun Kabir himself will contest from Rezinagar seat. Humayun Kabir will contest from two seats in Murshidabad district. In which apart from Rejinagar, Nauwala seat is included.

Humayun Kabir is constructing Babri Masjid in Beldanga, Murshidabad. For which he is said to have received donations worth crores of rupees. He was in the news recently for the construction of Babri Masjid and seeing the way he got people’s support, it is believed that in the upcoming assembly elections, the alliance of Humayun Kabir and Asaduddin Owaisi’s party can cause significant damage to the ruling TMC in Muslim dominated seats.

Mamata Banerjee’s worries increased like this

Muslim voters are in a decisive position in 85 seats in West Bengal. These seats are spread across five districts of the state, including Murshidabad, Malda, North Dinajpur, Birbhum and South 24 Parganas. These districts are Muslim dominated, where the Muslim population is around 66 percent in Murshidabad, 51 percent in Malda, 49 percent in North Dinajpur, 37 percent in Birbhum and 35 percent in South 24 Parganas.

In the 2021 assembly elections, TMC had captured 75 out of 85 assembly seats in these districts. There are 22 assembly seats in Murshidabad district and Humayun Kabir has a lot of influence in Murshidabad. Especially after starting the construction of Babri Masjid, the public support of Humayun Kabir has further increased in this district. In such a situation, if the alliance of Humayun Kabir and AIMIM is successful in getting some percentage of votes in other Muslim dominated seats including Murshidabad, then it may upset the mathematics of TMC’s victory. Besides, Congress and Left are also trying to make a dent in Muslim dominated seats. This is the reason why it is natural for the TMC leadership to be worried about the alliance of Humayun Kabir and AIMIM.
