The weather has taken a turn across the country. Due to the influence of active Western Disturbance in Jammu region, rain and snowfall continues in the hilly areas of North India, while thunderstorms, strong winds and rain have started in the plain states. At the same time, warning of heavy rain, hailstorm and strong winds up to 70 km per hour has been issued in Northeast and Eastern India. Between March 28 and 30, the weather will be unstable and temperature fluctuations will be seen in many parts of the country.

According to the latest bulletin of the Meteorological Department, due to the active western disturbance in and around Jammu, there is continuous rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while snowfall continues in the higher reaches. There is a possibility of strong winds at a speed of 30 to 50 km per hour and thunderstorms in these areas on March 28 and 29. Due to this seasonal activity, the temperature has dropped and the effect of cold has increased. Travelers have been advised to exercise caution as the roads may become slippery.

The weather is likely to change with light to moderate rain, strong winds and thunderstorms on March 28 and 29 in many parts of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. According to the Meteorological Department, the intensity of rain may increase in many areas on March 29 and 30. During this period, winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 60 km per hour, which can lead to dust storms and sudden rains. There are signs of rapid change in weather in Delhi and surrounding areas also.

Orange alert of heavy rain in many northeastern states

The weather remains highly active over Northeast India. Continuous rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till March 30. Orange alert has been issued in Assam and Meghalaya warning of heavy rainfall (64.5 to 115.5 mm). Strong winds of 50 to 70 km per hour can blow in these areas and there is also a possibility of hailstorm, due to which waterlogging and life can be affected.

Danger of hailstorm and lightning in eastern India

Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha will see a change in weather with light to moderate rain between March 28 and 29. There is a possibility of hailstorm and thunderstorm especially in Bihar and West Bengal. This may cause damage to crops and impact normal life.

Light weather activities in South India

Light rain with thundershowers may occur at some places in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka between March 28 and 30. Although the weather here is not severe, sudden changes can affect daily activities. Hot and humid weather will continue in Kerala and Mahe, due to which people may feel extremely hot and sticky. At the same time, there is a danger of hailstorm and strong thunderstorm in Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim and Jharkhand, where the wind speed can reach 50 to 70 km per hour. In such a situation, tree branches may break, big trees may be uprooted and crops standing in the fields may get ruined. Vulnerable crops such as bananas and papayas may be particularly affected.

Vigilance necessary amid changing weather

Damage to power and communication lines may disrupt power supplies and internet services. This situation can also be dangerous for people and animals present in the open. There is a possibility of damage to unbuilt and weak houses, while light objects can blow away in strong winds and cause damage.

Signs of light rain in central India

Light rain and thundershowers may occur in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Although the weather will not be very intense here, there may be a slight drop in temperature due to light rain.
