Venue of opening and final matches of IPL 2026 decided, know when the tournament can start

New Delhi: A big news has come regarding the Indian Premier League between T20 World Cup 2026. According to the report of Sports Today, the venue of the opening and final matches of IPL 2026 has been decided. These matches of the tournament will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, the home ground of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Apart from this, RCB will play its five home matches in Chinnaswamy.

The remaining two home matches of RCB’s IPL 2026 will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur as per the previously agreed agreement. RCB has also expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Karnataka, Karnataka State Cricket Association and Karnataka Police for their cooperation and support in making it possible to host the matches in Bengaluru.

Last year 11 fans died in a stampede

RCB made this announcement on Tuesday. This also put an end to speculations over whether RCB would get a chance to play its home matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium after 11 fans were killed there in a stampede to celebrate the team’s title win last year. Since then no domestic match has been played at this stadium.

RCB is the defending champion

In such a situation, if RCB gets five home matches in Chinnaswamy, the team will get strong support from the home pitch and fans.
