New Delhi. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made a record by debuting in the Indian Premier League last season at the age of just 14, will play for Rajasthan Royals in the second edition in 2026. This left-handed batsman coming from Samastipur, Bihar made his debut in IPL in 2025. Scored a total of 252 runs in seven matches for the Jaipur team, that too with a strike rate of more than 200. After batting brilliantly in his first IPL season, Vaibhav now wants to perform well in IPL 2026. During the BCCI awards show in Delhi on Sunday (15 March), he expressed his desire to break Chris Gayle’s record of the highest individual score in the coming season.
Gayle scored unbeaten 175 runs in 66 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2013 against Pune Warriors India at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Vaibhav wants to surpass this record.
