
The administration has started strict action against hoarding, black marketing and illegal refilling of LPG in the state. As part of the campaign being run across the state, raids have been conducted at 78 places so far. In this action, four cases have been registered and one person has been arrested. Apart from this, a large number of gas cylinders and items related to illegal refilling have also been seized.
Principal Secretary Food held a virtual meeting with officials
In this regard, Principal Secretary Food L Fanai held a virtual meeting from Bharadisain with all the District Magistrates of the state, District Supply Officers and officials of the three major oil companies. The situation of LPG and fuel supply in the state was reviewed in the meeting.
The Principal Secretary directed the officers that hoarding, black marketing and illegal refilling of LPG will not be tolerated at any cost and strict action should be taken against the culprits.
The campaign will be run on a large scale for 4 days
In the meeting, officials were told that a large-scale investigation campaign was conducted in the entire state in the last four days. During this period, 460 places were inspected, out of which raids were conducted at 78 places.
During the raids, 74 gas cylinders, one weighing machine and two illegal refilling kits were recovered and confiscated. District Magistrates said that the enforcement action is going on continuously and strictness will be taken in such cases in future also.
In the meeting, officials of oil companies Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited also gave information about the status of gas supply in the state.

Officials said that domestic LPG stock is available in sufficient quantity in the state and there is no shortage. Officials of the companies are in constant touch with the District Supply Officers in all the districts so that the supply system remains smooth.
Officials also said that due to the misleading information being spread through social media and other mediums, a situation of panic is being created among the people, due to which a large number of panic bookings are being made. In Indian Oil Corporation Limited alone, bookings of about one lakh gas cylinders have been registered in the last three to four days.
In the meeting, Secretary Food Anand Swarup, Additional Commissioner Food P.S. Pangati, Additional Secretary Ruchi Mohan Rayal and other officers were also present. The administration has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors as there is sufficient stock of LPG available in the state.
