Due to increasing tension between Iran and Israel, the global fuel supply chain has been disrupted, which has had a direct impact on the availability of commercial LPG cylinders in India. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Government Minister Satpal Maharaj has assured the traders and the general public that the government is taking all possible steps to deal with this crisis.
Minister Maharaj said in clear words that there is no need for the general public to panic. The supply of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinders is completely normal and there has been no cut or reduction in it. The priority of the government is that the stoves in the homes of common citizens should keep burning without any hindrance.

Since the supply of commercial cylinders has been temporarily affected, due to which hotel and restaurant operators are facing problems, Maharaj has also discussed this matter in detail with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Appealing to the traders, he said, “Due to global circumstances, there is pressure on the supply chain. In such a situation, owners of hotels and commercial establishments are expected to manage their current stock wisely. Use gas limited and judiciously till the conditions become completely normal.”
Why did this crisis arise?
According to experts in foreign affairs and energy sector, the ongoing conflict in West Asia has made maritime trade routes unsafe. India imports a large part of its needs, and this war-like situation has affected the movement of ships and the delivery capacity of refineries.

Minister Satpal Maharaj has assured that this disruption is temporary. The state government is trying to streamline the supply by coordinating with the Centre. Traders have been advised to avoid any kind of hoarding or black marketing, so as to ensure equitable distribution of limited resources.
