He said that India does not need to buy Russian oil, but it is buying it only because of being cheap. Wright alleged that Russia is forced to sell oil on a discount, as no country wants to take it.

He said, ‘India has decided to compromise on ignoring cheap oil and war. This means that you are giving money to the person who is killing thousands of people every week. We want India to buy oil with us. You can buy oil from any country, not just from Russia. This is our attitude. America has oil to sell, and all others also. We do not want to punish India, but want to end war and strengthen relations with India.
