Uproar over waterlogging in Jodhpur’s Uday Mandir area, local people demonstrated like this

In the Uday Mandir area located in the inner city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, there has been a problem of dirty water flowing on the roads for a long time, due to which the local people are very upset. Due to non-cleaning of drains and lack of proper drainage system, there is continuous situation of waterlogging on the streets and main roads.

This is not only affecting the traffic, but it has also made life difficult for the people due to the bad smell and filth around. Troubled by the problem, the local residents took to the streets on February 15 and protested fiercely and expressed their displeasure against the administration by blocking the road.

In the protest, people played Holi sitting in dirty water on the road itself.

The protesters say that the holy month of Ramzan has started, today is the festival of Mahashivratri and soon the festival of Holi is also coming. Despite this, no concrete action is being taken by the concerned departments regarding the filth and waterlogging in the area.

Due to administrative negligence, health related diseases are also increasing in the area.

Local people alleged that they have lodged complaints several times, but the problem has not been resolved till now.
