
In Uttar Pradesh, people will be able to appeal to the District Election Officer (DM) within 15 days of deletion of their name from the final voter list. If you are not satisfied with the DM’s decision, you can appeal to the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days of the decision. Around 6-7 lakh names are expected to be cut in the Special Intensive Review (SIR) in Uttar Pradesh.
As per the schedule so far, the final voter list will be released on April 10. There were 12.55 crore names in the voter list frozen on October 27. Of these, notices were given to 1.04 crore people due to mismatch with the voter list of 2003 and 2.22 crore people were given notices due to logical error. The process of hearing the notice has been 100 percent completed. Now everyone is waiting for the publication of the final voter list.
Deleted will be written in the column
The names which will be removed from the voter list, will remain at the same number in the voter list, but in the column next to it, it will be written as deleted. Also, the reason for deletion of name will be written as E (deceased), S (transferred), R (recurrence), M (missing) and Q (ineligible). The total number of deleted voters will also be written on the last page of the concerned booth.
