The double murder that took place on Monday afternoon in Rahpura Chaudhary of Izzatnagar police station area of Bareilly has put the functioning of the police in the dock. The Chief Minister has given instructions to take the complaint of every victim seriously, but the Izzatnagar police did not pay any attention to it.
Saima had called dial 112 on Sunday morning and narrated her husband’s misdeeds. Then in the evening she lodged a complaint in Izzatnagar police station, expressing threat to her life and demanding action from her husband. Despite this, the attitude of the police remained poor.
Saima’s sisters Shifa and Anam told that after the dispute on Saturday evening, the officer had locked the house and left. The clothes and essential items of the sister and children were locked in the house. When Dial 112 police reached the spot, Saima told the whole story.

The police opened the lock with another key, got the clothes etc. and went away. Said to lodge a complaint in the police station for action against the officer. Shifa and Anam told that after this, Saima lodged a complaint in Izzatnagar police station in the evening, accusing her husband of demanding dowry and threatening to kill her. Instead of taking action, the police sent Saima home.

The officer was in the house on Sunday night and the next morning, but the police did not catch him. If the police had become active on the complaint and arrested the officer, perhaps the lives of the mother and brother would have been saved. Even Saima does not have this condition. In such a situation, action can be taken against the careless policemen of Izzatnagar police station.

Shifa told that when mother and sister started going to Rashid’s house for Panchayat, brother Adil came. Stopped both of them and asked them the whole story. When he was told that he was going to talk to the officer, Adil said that he did not trust him. Asma tried to stop him, but Adil went along with him. Little did they know that the officer was thirsty for their blood and would commit such an incident.

On Saturday evening he also attacked with a tabal (a type of sharp weapon). Said that I have committed one murder…I will commit another murder of yours. Hearing the noise, people nearby gathered and his life was saved. Along with murder, a case of theft and dowry harassment is already registered against the officer.
