There was chaos on Yamuna Expressway under Naujheel police station area of ​​Mathura on Sunday when a private bus going from Agra to Noida suddenly caught fire. In this incident which took place near village Katailiya near Milestone 64, a ball of fire was formed within a short time. According to the police, seeing the smoke suddenly rising from the bus, Yashpal Singh, a resident of village Katalia, immediately informed the Naujheel police station in-charge through phone. As soon as the bus caught fire, there was screaming among the passengers and people started running here and there to save their lives. As soon as the information was received, police station in-charge Sonu Singh and sub-inspector Harendra Tomar reached the spot with the police force and started the rescue operation without wasting time. The policemen showed promptness and safely evacuated all the 38 passengers on board the bus. Along with this, after giving information to FS Mont, fire brigade vehicle was called to the spot.

Within no time the fire took a huge form and engulfed the entire bus. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot and controlled the fire after a lot of effort, but by then the bus was completely burnt to ashes. Police station in-charge Sonu Singh said that all the 48 passengers in the bus were returning to Delhi after visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra. It is fortunate that there was no loss of life in this accident. All the passengers have been sent to their destination through another bus. After the incident, traffic on the expressway was also affected for some time. At present the cause of the fire is being investigated.
