
After the attack on Iran by America and Israel, Lucknow’s air network with Gulf countries has been completely cut off. Due to closure of airspace of Dubai and Iran, flight operations have come to a standstill, due to which people of Lucknow are stranded in Gulf countries. On Sunday, 17 flights to and from Gulf countries were cancelled. This includes flights from airports like Dammam, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah etc. The situation was such that not a single flight could depart from Lucknow for these countries on Sunday. Not only this, about two and a half thousand passengers had to cancel their tickets.
A different scene was seen at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport on Sunday. The new terminal T-3, from where international flights are operated, appeared completely empty. There were no passengers going from Lucknow to Gulf countries Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dammam, Riyadh, Dubai. Nor were planes from these countries coming to Lucknow. Due to closure of airspace of Iran and Dubai, aircraft operations have been completely stopped. Due to this, nine flights from Lucknow to Gulf countries had to be cancelled. Whereas eight flights coming from Gulf countries did not operate. A large number of people from Lucknow and surrounding districts including Bahraich, Gonda, Sultanpur, Balrampur go to many countries including Dubai, Saudi Arabia for employment.
