A 16-month old innocent child died tragically after being hit by a speeding Scorpio in Muzaffarpur district late in the evening. After committing the incident, the villagers chased away the driver who was running away and caught him and handed him over to the police. The incident is being reported from Chichdi village area of Katra police station area of the district. The deceased child has been identified as Kartik Kumar, father Sanjay Kumar Gupta.
The child died on the spot
Regarding this incident, family members told that Karthik Kumar was playing with his sister on the verandah near his house. Meanwhile, the Scorpio coming at a high speed went out of control and reached near the verandah and engulfed the innocent Karthik. The collision was so strong that the child died on the spot. There was chaos in the area after the incident. The villagers chased and caught the driver who was running away after the accident. After this, people immediately informed the police of Katra police station about the incident.
Police detained the vehicle and driver
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and seized the Scorpio. The driver is being detained and interrogated. At present the police is busy investigating the entire matter. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire village and the family members are in bad condition, crying.

In this entire matter, Katra police station said that an innocent child has died in this incident. The driver of the vehicle that carried out the incident has been caught. Further action is being taken in the matter. The body of the deceased child has been taken into custody and sent to the medical college for post-mortem. Based on the statement of the family members, a case has been registered and further action is being taken.
