
On Thursday, in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh, a youth named Pradeep and Bhupendra, residents of village Patti of Eka police station area, died due to electric shock after a high tension line fell on them. After which there was chaos in the entire village. Angered by the incident, the villagers started creating ruckus and did not allow the dead bodies to be lifted. SDM Abbas Naqvi, who reached the information, pacified the family members by assuring them of action and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
At the time of the incident, both the youths had gone out for a morning walk as usual, but in the meantime the high tension line fell on them and both of them got badly burnt to death. There is mourning in the entire village due to the death of both the youths. The administration has assured all possible help to both the families.
What was the entire incident?
Pradeep, son of Ashok Kumar and Bhupendra, son of Jagdish, residents of Patti, had gone out for a walk on Thursday morning. On the way, an 11 thousand volt electric wire broke and fell on these youth. Due to this, he not only got a strong electric shock but his clothes also caught fire. Both these youths were burnt alive. The villagers informed the electricity department and the lights were cut. As soon as information about the incident was received, a large number of villagers gathered on the spot and informed the police.
When the police reached the spot and tried to send the body for post-mortem, the villagers got angry and did not allow the body to be taken away. Villagers allege that the wires were dilapidated for a long time, but they were not replaced.
Villagers blocked the road and opened it on demand of compensation.
The angry villagers blocked the road, after the hour’s notice, SDM Judicial Jasrana Abbas Naqvi and Tehsildar Ravish Kumar reached the spot and pacified the villagers and got the jam cleared. SDM Abbas Naqvi assured compensation to the families of the deceased.
Jasrana area officer Prem Shankar Pandey said that SDM Jasrana has assured the victim’s family of getting Rs 5 lakh each from the government and Rs 5 lakh each from the electricity department. Also, the village head has been asked to make a proposal to give five bighas of Gram Sabha land to the victim’s family and send it to the government. An assurance has also been given to shift 11 thousand lines from the village.
